CLIENT: LUZA FESTIVAL

EVENT: LUZA FESTIVAL LOULÉ, PORTUGAL

PARTNERS: EUROLOGISTIX

MISSION: AUDIOVISUAL 360° MAPPING AND LIGHTING LIVE PERFORMANCE

YEAR: 2018, NOVEMBER

INFINITY was building the bridge between our planet and the universe, which is strongly related to the question of our being and the existance of higher powers and therefore adapted the basic intention of the local church "Capela de Nossa Senhora da Piedade" in Loulé as one of the highlights at the annual LUZA Festival.

The live installation embraced the visible and the fictional to create a monumental artwork that combines 360° mapping projection on the given architecture of the church with a full circle of 12 movinglights.

From distance the circular moving skybeams defined the church as centerpiece on the hill that visually connected with the sky and the universe by sending out its rays into INFINITY. The mapping-projection was adapted to the architectural structure of the building and closed the gap between the sky and earth by its content which was specially produced and live remixed according to the soundscapes created by Tofa.

We chose Robe Mega Pointe as our air fx fixture as it has a super long well defined beam. For the horizontal wash we took SGM Q7s and distributed three MDG Co2 hasers around the church to give more power to the lights.

The combination of lights and projection enabled us to create an artpiece that became an eyecatcher from near as well as from the distance for every visitor and created a key visual for LUZA Festival and the City of Loulé.

Besides the entire concept and live operating the visual part, Chris aka Tofa also made an audio recording inside the church during a mass at the All saints' Day just before the av performance started - which was later the basis of the soundtrack that goes along with the videoedit you can watch below.
